With the objective of promoting and ensuring quality higher education, Mihir Bhoj Postgraduate College was established in 1968 by eminent, respected, generous, and socially committed citizens of the region.
The institution’s developmental journey began in 1944 with the establishment of a small school at Ayodhya Ganj, Dadri. To fulfill the educational needs of the region, the Gurjar Vidya Sabha, Dadri, through persistent efforts, acquired 52.24 acres of land from the Government of Uttar Pradesh for the establishment of an educational institution. In 1949, Gurjar A.S. High School was inaugurated by Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant, the then Premier of the United Provinces. The school was granted the status of a secondary school in 1953, and in 1968, Mihir Bhoj College was established. Its foundation stone was laid by Dr. Triguna Sen, the then Union Minister of Education, Government of India.
In 1968, the college received recognition to offer undergraduate programs in the Faculty of Science with Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics as subjects. In 1970, recognition was extended to include undergraduate programs in Biological Sciences. Considering the educational requirements of the region, the Faculty of Arts was established in 1979 with undergraduate courses in English, Hindi, History, Economics, and Political Science. Subsequently, undergraduate studies in Geography were introduced in 1985.
To promote postgraduate education in the region, self-financed postgraduate programs in Mathematics and Hindi were approved in 1995. Thereafter, a self-financed postgraduate program in Chemistry was approved in 2001, while undergraduate Commerce and postgraduate Geography programs received approval in 2014. To provide career-oriented education to students, the college obtained approval for self-financed professional programs, namely BCA and M.Com., in 2024.
